Shimpei Shimizu - Japanese Translation Service Provider

Some people think that being fluent in Japanese and English is enough to become a Japanese translator.

We disagree wholeheartedly. We believe that becoming bilingual is the minimum prerequisite before even considering to become a Japanese translator.

Our Japanese translators are fully bilingual, and they have lived and worked in Japan and North America. Therefore, they have intuitive understanding of both cultures, in addition to being fully biligual in Japanese and English.

In addition, many of our translators live in Japan and visit North America often, or live in North America and visit Japan often. The translators who live in North America enjoy many things Japanese, inlcuidng TV shows, movies, books, and magazines. And the translators who live in Japan keep up with English through media as well. This way, they stay in touch culturally, and keep up with the dynamic nature of the languages. Remember that languages evolve over time, and the only way to meaningfully keep up with the trends is to experience them first hand.

Now, we have to give you a disclaimer.

We don’t claim to be experts in all fields. We are Japanese-English translators who come from various backgrounds, including engineering, management,  banking, and linguistics, but we currently don’t have a Japanese translator who specializes in medical field, just to cite an example. Because of our past experience in translating various documents to and from Japanese, we can handle many projects even if the projects do not fall under our immediate expertise. Having said that, certain fields like medicine and patent translation fall outside of our current scope.

The good news is, we have been providing Japanese translation service to many satisfied clients in various fields, including automotive, engineering, business, financial, environment, software, legal, and academia. Some documents that we have translated include websites, user manual for consumer products, user manual for industrial software, user interface for apps, litigation supporting documents, engineering training manuals, financial reports for investors, marketing material for hard drives, academic papers written by researchers, and many more.

If you require Japanese translation service, and care about the quality of the output, please contact us today to discuss your Japanese translation service needs.
